PK040
A 2-digit value represents the Contribution Balance Percentage, in percentage units. This percentage is applied to the PK037, PK038, and PK039 wage tolerances listed above, giving a proportional contribution amount tolerance corresponding to the wage level of the family. For instance a 10% PK040 value would allow a contribution variation of up to $50 when total and taxable wages are permitted to wander by up to $500. The EXPO-established default for this field is 10%. It is recommended that this value not be increased, though edits can be tightened with a reduced value. If the State Maximum Tax Rate (PK001) exceeds 10%, this value could also be adjusted upward accordingly, but should never exceed 15%.
