Refiling Batch Number (IMT-EARS-BATCH-NUM)

The EARS batch number is a 4-byte field located in positions 609 - 612. As the name implies, it specifies the batch number (which does not need to be strictly numeric, but can also contain alphabetic characters) used with refiling forms processing during the annual refiling process. This batch number is kept by EARS, which copies it to this field in a separate update process. Since this information is not available to the State Tax File, this field should always be left as low-values.
