Refiling Survey Summary Management File Data Set Name: ES2.JOB119D.FILE Service Center DSN: YBUssX.A145.JOB119D.FILE ('ss' = State FIPS code) Type of File: Sequential File Layout: ES2NCA The Non-Classified Account Survey Summary Management Report (NCA-SMR) File contains a synopsis of statistics related to the refiling of non-classified establishments. These detect the general level of progress achieved in the refiling, in terms of the number of these establishments that have been successfully coded (assigned a valid NAICS code) through the course of the refiling year. Either Job EARJ119D (on-demand basis) or EARJ119M (monthly basis) is run to produce this file. Data are broken out by size codes, which are set up in seven groupings, rather than the "traditional" 10-size-class breakout that used to be used in ES-202 processing. Like the 106M job for the standard SMR deliverable, the NCA SMR must be provided on a monthly basis to BLS for an examination of NCA refiling statistics and progress. Since refiling of non-classified establishments is an ongoing procedure, the progress percentages may go up or down from one report to the next. New establishments are introduced to the Micro File from IMT updates and on-line actions (such as ES2C, ES2R, ES2V, and ES2X) each quarter. This alters the denominator (total number of records or total employment), giving a longitudinal graphing of useable-account percentages a quarterly saw-tooth look. All data are drawn from the Micro File and the Lookup File. Refiling File data never come into the picture, since these accounts are never stored on that file. |
