This 6-digit employment value is used to represent the Maximum Identical Employment level. This is the highest employment level that may appear in all three months of a quarter without failing an edit (code 128) for a lack of monthly change. The established BLS default value for this parameter is 50 employees. This value can be decreased to make a more restrictive edit, but an increase above the 50-employee value should not be made without authorization by BLS, despite the fact that it is a 6-digit value.
