Job ES2J005D - Transaction File Purging of Old Data

Job Features and Functions

• Identifies and deletes transaction file (Administrative, Quarterly and MOA) records
• Identification based on year/month/day transaction date
• Records deleted if transaction date is either older than the parameter date or older than oldest quarter on Micro File
• Serves as a tool to manage the size of transaction files

Job 005D deletes records from the Administrative, MOA, and Quarterly Transaction Files. The deletion process is based on date, allowing the user to limit the size of transaction files by selectively deleting records older than the date specified in the parameters.

Default “pruning” of transaction data occurs in Job 001Q with a six-month limit on transaction history. Job 005D is only needed for supplemental runs when even less historical transaction data is required.

Note:  No report of records deleted by Job 005D (or 001Q) is produced.  Running Job 016D will produce a hard copy report of transaction records before deletion occurs.
