Input Micro Auxiliary Transaction File Data Set Name: WS.ES202.IMAT.FILE Service Center DSN: YBUssX.A145.IMAT.FILE, ('ss' = State FIPS code) Type of File: Sequential File Layout: ES2IMAT The Input Micro Auxiliary Transaction (or IMAT) File is produced by State-specific data extraction programs. It parallels the actions of IMT updates, but applies changes to the Micro Omni Auxiliary (MOA) File, rather than to the Micro File. Although the MOA File carries several different record types, a single IMAT record can update most of them simultaneously. In the same manner as IMT updates, any data that are to remain unchanged on the MOA File should appear as low-values (binary zeroes) in the IMAT fields. If one or more of the sections listed above are set to all spaces, it signals that that record is to be removed from the MOA File (such as the deletion of the mailing/other address or the contact information, etc. As such, this file can cause a great deal of trouble if the contents are not checked before the first IMAT run. The State development of an IMAT File should be coordinated with the Utah staff to ensure that there will not be a large-scale problem in data removal. IMAT updates are performed by Job 043D. The file will generally not be needed for further retention after this job has run. |
