Macro Rollup Parameters File Data Set Name: WS.ES202.ROLLUP.PARM Service Center DSN: YBUssX.A145.ROLLUP.PARM, ('ss' = StateFIPS code) Type of File: VSAM indexed File Layout: ES2RUP CICS ID: ES2RUP (Standard); EssRUP (Service Center; ss=State) The Macro Rollup Parameters File contains two sets of report selection parameters specified in the ES2N screens; on set is for Job ES2J246D macro data selection, while the other set (in identical format, other than using a "B" record type code instead of an "A") is set up for ALMIS macro data selections. The file also has alternate record definitions for micro record selection (via Job ES2J020D parameters), micro structured-query-language record selection (in Job ES2J040D), and in the EARS selection of refiling records for reporting (called from the EARN transaction of that system). Macro Rollup requests are distinguished from the other parameter sets by the use of an 'A' record type code at the beginning of the record. ALMIS-based macro selections (as mentioned previously) are identified with a "B" record type. Up to 9 sets of parameters for each type of record may be selected from this file at a time, though many other records can be stored permanently. The other records (type code 'I' (for micro selections), type code 'M' (for micro SQL-like selections), and type code 'R' (for EARS selections)) are ignored when the Macro Roll-up Parameters are processed. Job 246D processes the selected Macro ("A") Rollup Parameters, collecting records from the Macro File that match county/MSA, industry, etc., specifications. These records are then passed to the Macro Rollup Data Collection File (ES2ROLL, just described), externally sorted, and passed on to the finalization program, where the data are used to build the macro roll-up report, matrix report, or Roll-up File. Up to nine parameter sets can be processed in the job, each processed by a set of five job steps. The same selection process takes place for ALMIS-intended (Job 247D) processing, though the output will be in an entirely different format, selecting one of the ALMIS extract formats instead of the macro roll-up. In addition to the record selection parameters, such as county, NAICS and quarter range, the macro rollup also allows for two report formats. The first provides a standardized format to list employment and wage summarization for the selected parameters, with the option of fiscal- or calendar-year totals. This may also be produced as a disk or tape file, though annual totals are excluded from this option. The second report is a county-by-major industry matrix report, which may list any of four different data items, including reporting unit counts, employment, total wages, taxable wages, contributions, and average quarterly wages. However, the matrix report ignores the county, industry, and other selections, since it is automatically run on a Statewide basis. |
