This edit uses the same date validation technique as in the initial liability date format check (Code 021), except that it uses the reactivation date field instead. Like the other dates described previously, the reactivation date has a yyyymmdd format. If there is no known reactivation date for an employer, this field is left as spaces, exempting it from this edit. A numeric, non-zero date field will use the date format edit previously described. In addition, however, an extra contingency is placed upon the reactivation date. It must not precede the initial liability date, which makes sense, since an establishment can’t come back in business before it starts up for the first time. These are crucial-level conditions that are recurring until the date is corrected. BLS classification: C.1.4. EXPO “G” code: C024.
