As a 6-digit dollar figure, this is the First Wage Balance Split Level, identifying the family total wage amount at which the PK037 absolute tolerance is no longer used, and the PK038 millage tolerance takes effect. The original BLS-set split level was $25,000, but this default was altered to $50,000 for Version 5.2. The value can be adjusted as desired. This adjustment should be in conjunction with decreases to the PK037 and/or PK038 parameters to produce a smooth curve. If PK038 is reduced to 5 (mills) without any other change, a $24,999 wage family will be allowed a nearly $250 balance range, while a $25,001 wage family can vary by only $125.
