Employer Facsimile (Fax) Machine Phone Number (IMAT-FAX-PHONE)
This field is available for the 10-digit facsimile machine phone number of the employer, comprised of area code, exchange and suffix sub-fields, each described individually below. The fax phone number information is located in positions 258 - 267 of the record. It is uncommon for fax information to be gathered on the Tax File or other State source files, principally because the number is transitory and is generally only useful to the QCEW, if at all. One source for collecting fax numbers is refiling forms. Yet these are only processed once every three years, leaving ample time for the numbers to change to other assignments.
