Agent
An individual who meets the definition of agent, as set forth by CIPSEA; in addition is BLS designated to perform exclusively, statistical activities, through an Agent Agreement.
The BLS also designates the 53 State Workforce Agency LMI staffs, working on the BLS Federal/State Cooperative Programs, such as the QCEW, as agents of BLS.
The QCEW program also collects identifiers on business that either:
*1. Only file.
- 2. Fully prepare and report QCR data and U-I taxes, to the States for specific employers
These identifiers are collected in the form of an Agent Code. Additional intonations on Agent Codes can be found in Appendix B (Miscellaneous System Tables) of this manual.
