Job ES2J040D - Micro Selection Report - Not for Data Sharing

RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

Job 040D parallels the output types of Job 020D, but uses field name parameters to provide the data selection criteria. These parameters are entered through one of the ES2N screens, establishing a parameter set for running the job. Similarly to the 020D, 246D, and 247D jobs, it allows up to nine sets of parameters to be processed in a single job run.

Job ES2J040D (40D) is a Micro File search program. It generates a Firm List Report or data file of Micro File records that meet the selection criteria. For reports, the output type parameter should be ‘R’. For a data file with a 537-byte record length, the output type parameter should be ‘F’.

This job is an expansion of Job 20D. Where Job 20D search capabilities are based on pre-determined fields, Job 40D is more free form in its selection capabilities. Any field in the Micro File record can be specified to compare against a specified value or range of values or against another field. In addition, ‘AND/OR/LOR’ statements are available to add more selection criteria. Up to eight sets of conditional selection criteria can be specified to identify the desired record(s) in the Micro and or MOA File search. After the selection criteria are entered in ES2N, Job 040D is run to search the Micro and or MOA Files for the desired records and produce a report or output file.

When entering the selection criteria in ES2N, the user can identify the field to be compared by either entering the beginning point of the field or by entering the abbreviated field name. If using the beginning point of the field, the parameter screen will convert it to the field abbreviation when the enter key is pressed. A Micro File layout table is provided in the Related Links (under Additional Job 040D Parameters Screen Information) to determine field beginning positions as well as a list of field name abbreviations for reference in specifying the desired field to compare or search.

Each parameter established for Job 040D can be saved under a unique four-digit request ID number. This number is entered in the upper right portion of the parameter screen. After its initial use and after it has been saved, it can be re-used and optionally modified for future applications of Job 040D. A saved request ID can be modified and re-saved under the same request ID.
