Total Wages (IMTQ-TOTAL-WAGE(1))

This is the total wage field for the current quarter, an 11-digit field, located at positions 760 - 770. It represents the total wages paid throughout the quarter, shown in whole dollars (rounded to the nearest dollar). The method for setting this field (except for rounding) is the same as that for setting the first month's employment (IMTQ-M1-EMPL(1)).

Note: A common error in early IMT File development was to include cents digits in the wage figures, so that $72,500 would appear as $7,250,000, for example. It is best to verify that all wage fields, especially the contributions value, represent whole-dollar, rounded amounts. Also be sure that rounding is performed so that values such as contributions of $245.95 appear as $246, rather than $245.
