Job 034D - Produce the MLS Files and Report

Es2j034d.png

Job 034D is an interface to the Mass Layoff Statistics (MLS) System. There are two different formats of MLS output data that are produced, but only micro records with sufficient employment are selected for processing. The parameters listed below help explain the processing.

1. Year/Quarter - This field (in ‘yyq’ format) identifies the Micro File quarter from which to draw quarter-specific data, as well as to determine the eligibility of establishments for inclusion in the MLS output files. Other than needing to be actually on the file, there are no requirements upon this field.

2. Employment Level – This is a 6-digit numeric field indicating the minimum employment level required to select an establishment for output to the MLS files. Those that are too “small” will be ignored.

This job can be run at any time; the selection is based upon the needs of the MLS unit.
