Job EARJ118D - Produce CCS Master List

RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

  • Produces a report of single and sub-unit micro file records with a code change
  • Records are selected from the Micro File
  • Program compares old code with first calendar quarter code
  • Run Job 013D before this job
  • The report produced by this job provides the user with a list of records that are included on the code change supplement

Job 118D creates the CCS Master List report (where the “S” stands for “Summary” rather than “Supplement” as in the other CCS definitions of Job 109D, etc.). The report shows all of the establishments with code changes for the new calendar year. This report is required by BLS, and may be helpful in CES benchmarking.

Job 118D generates a listing of single and multi-subunit Micro File records with a county, ownership, and/or NAICS code change. The job compares the old code fields with the 1st calendar year comparable fields to identify code changes. Since the job selects records from the Micro File, Job 013D must be run to move the necessary criteria from the Refiling File to the Micro File before this job can run correctly. The listing allows the user to view records that are included on the Code Change Summary.

The micro record must have a response code of 46 or 50, and any old code value different from the corresponding code in the newest first calendar quarter on the Micro File, to qualify for the report. It uses the same selection logic as Job 109D. If a record has no code change, it will not appear on the report. This report is informational and can be run at any time. It does not produce a BLS deliverable, but produces a report for the analyst that can be sorted by account number, county, ownership, or NAICS.

All single (MEEI 1, 4, and 6) and multi-subunit type (MEEI 3 and 5) records with NAICS, county, township, and/or ownership code changes in the Micro File are included on this CCS report.
