Job EARJ101D - Batch Update to Refiling File (From IRT)

RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

  • Extracts data from IRT (Input Refiling Transactions) File and updates Refiling File
  • New records added to Refile File

Job 101D performs batch updates to the Refiling File, using an Input Refiling Transaction (IRT) File (a direct parallel to the EXPO system IMT File). A State-specific program must be developed to create the Input Refiling Transaction (IRT) File from which Job 101D can extract data and write to the Refiling File. This job is rarely used, since most updates are performed through on-line entry.

This job is performed subsequently to the initial build of the Refiling File, performed by Job 100A. Additional records can be added to the file and existing records can be updated by this job. Additions or updates can also be made on-line through the EARC screen. The batch update of the Refiling File is similar to that of the Micro File.

A report of records updated, deleted, and added is optionally produced. In addition, a detailed report of IRT records rejected because of invalid values is printed. If any field in an IRT record contains invalid data, the entire record is rejected. This report identifies invalid IRT records so they can be corrected and resubmitted for update, or be updated through EARC.

Warning: For Service Center States, CICS programs that access the Refiling File (i.e. EARC and ES2C) are automatically disabled while this job runs and are subsequently activated again at the completion of the job.
