Job EARJ116D - Refiling Audit Trail Report

RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

  • Selects Refiling Transaction file records within parameter dates and optionally User ID
  • Pulls records from Refiling Transaction File
  • Produces two reports (i.e., added/deleted records and changed records)

Job 116D prints an Audit Trail Report, listing of changes to Refiling File records as noted in the Refiling Transaction File. This parallels the micro-data audit trail of EXPO Job 016D. Parameters can specify a particular date range for transactions, or isolate a particular user. The report can be sorted by date/time, by SESA ID, or by user ID.

The report produced by Job 116D selects records in the Refiling Transaction File based on date and optionally user ID. Only Refiling Transaction records with a transaction date within specified date range parameters are included on the report. The report can optionally be produced for only one specified user. The Audit Trail Report can be used to research changes made in the Refiling File based on U-I account number, date, and YBU, user ID. For change type records, the report displays only the changed field(s) and not the entire record. Data for the record are included as it existed before changes were made, and the same data items after the change. For deleted records, the report displays the entire record as it existed on the Refiling File prior to deletion. For added records, the report displays the entire record as it existed after being added. The job can be run on demand and, depending on the number of changes, can potentially generate a lengthy report. The report can be produced in U-I account number, date, or User ID number sequence.

Refiling Transaction File records are created by a variety of CICS and batch programs that update the Refiling File. CICS program EARC, the primary tool for Refiling staff to make on-line changes, additions, and deletions to records on the Refiling File, writes Transaction File records. Transaction File records are also generated through changes enacted in EARR. Batch Job 102D also writes to the Refiling Transaction File.
