Job ES2J001S - Extract and Estimate (No Edits - IMT Process Only)

RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

  • Extracts data from small IMT file and updates Micro/MOA Files
  • Performs micro estimates with an option for delinquent estimates
  • Processes only micro records to be updated-Efficient for small updates
  • No edits performed-no updates to micro edit file

Job 001S was designed to extract and partially estimate small batches of data that were not available for the initial or major subsequent extracts. It can efficiently update (small numbers of) IMT records to the Micro and MOA Files. The fewer IMT records processed, the greater the efficiency benefit in lieu of Job 001D. Instead of processing the entire Micro/MOA Files, only records to be updated with records in the IMT file are selected for processing.

Job 001S differs from 001D because it does not perform the micro edits. 001S does not perform estimates for non-processed records. Partial estimates are always performed on current and prior quarters, regardless of the quarters extracted from the IMT File. Delinquent estimates are performed optionally by this job. Future quarter edits can be performed by Job 002F.

001S does not update the delinquency file, Crosswalk Files (because the entire Micro File is not read), or the Alpha Locator File. The parameter setting for the number of Crosswalk File quarters to rebuild is ignored by this job. The tradeoff of faster execution versus the loss of the previously mentioned files must be weighed before choosing this job over 001D.

Since the micro edits are not performed, edits for the extracted records will be performed when 042D (integrated edit) is run or by a special run of 002D. Before Job 001S can be used, the State-specific program must be run to extract late reporter data from the tax file and write this data to the IMT File. Job 001S transfers this data from the IMT File to the Micro File.

Job 001S can be run multiple times during a quarter's cycle. This job should not be used to rebuild the Delinquency File because the entire Micro File is not read. Therefore, the parameter to produce a delinquency file should be "N".
