Job ES2J017D - Code Change Report - Micro vs. Refiling File

RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

  • Compares two specified quarters on Micro for code changes
  • One option lists all records with code changes
  • A second option lists only those code changes not on the Refiling File

Job 017D is primarily designed to be a refiling support tool, but can also be used to identify any record with a code change between any two quarters on the Micro File. The first report option will identify records with a county, NAICS, ownership, or auxiliary code change between two specified quarters on the Micro File but are not in the EARS Refiling file. Since some code changes are identified through sources other than refiling, such as the CES or OES staff and are made directly to the Micro File, they may not have been entered to the EARS Refiling file. This report can help staff insure the Micro and EARS Files are consistent with each other. An additional report is included that lists new worksites with different codes than the parent record.

The second report option compares any two specified quarters on the Micro File to identify records with county, ownership, NAICS, auxiliary, or township/zone changes. A report is produced which lists records with code changes in any of these fields. Records with only a county code change from the 900 series of county codes are excluded from the report. No comparison is made with the EARS Refiling File. An additional report is included that lists new worksites which have different codes that their parent record.

A third option produces a report of records that have had a change of status in the Micro File between two specified quarters.
