Job ES2J024E - Micro File Update from Edit CENCO File

RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

  • Direct updates to the Micro File and Narrative Comments File of MWR data that are collected and transmitted by the EDI Center in Chicago
  • When the file is from a PEO (leasing company), any units reporting a predecessor number, prompt the program to post the units’ account # to the successor field of the predecessor
  • Year/quarter are determined from the Input File; thus no year/quarter parameter is required
  • There is an option to bypass the files, producing only a data report
  • Produces MWR translation report and warning message report
  • Automatically prorates taxable wages and contributions

Job 024E is available to Service Center States to run the same process as 024D, by selecting the MWR input file from a list of files that have been uploaded to DMA by the EDI Center. These files are listed as “CENCO” files. Job 024E uses the same parameters as 024D.

Job 024E processes MWR information transmitted directly to the Service Center by the EDI center. This program reads the ‘CENCO’ file and performs a direct update to the Micro and Narrative Comment files. The CLIST will prompt the user for the CENCO file name to be processed. The Micro File is not disabled in CICS during the run.

Job 024E uses the year/quarter on the CENCO file to determine which quarter to update on the Micro File. Therefore, no year/quarter parameter exists for this job. The job optionally produces a report of the incoming MWR data, instead of performing an update. This allows the State to review the data before performing an update to the Micro File. The direct update feature means no other job needs to be run to apply the codes. In addition to the Micro File, appropriate updates are made to the Narrative Comment File, MOA File, and both Administrative and Quarterly Transaction Files. Administrative data updated to the Micro File by this job include trade and legal names, physical address, reporting unit description, and non-zero EIN's. If non-zero EIN’s are updated to worksites, the program also updates the master with the new EIN. A report of the old and new EIN for the master is then created. If records exist on the MWR File that are not in the Micro File, they are added to the Micro File as new records.

Job 024E also produces a hard copy report of the records processed. In addition, a report is generated for records that were on the file but not processed. This report of unprocessed records includes the U-I number and the reason it was not processed (e.g. out of State FIPS code, or data for a quarter other than that specified in ES2N parameters, or invalid Reporting Unit Number).

This job also updates the EDI and mail codes in the Micro File. The EDI source code is updated by this job. This code, (E) EDI, is written to the EDI code in the Micro File. Also, the mail code is set to do not mail (N).

For PEO companies, if a sub-unit reports a predecessor, it is assumed that this has reference to the actual company for which the leasing company is reporting. The program posts the sub-unit account number to the successor field of the actual company’s account.
