RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

  • Updates master account NAICS code with most prominent sub-unit codes, except for leasing (PEO) companies.
  • Produces a report of master accounts updated and shows both old and new codes
  • There is an option to produce report only without updates to master
  • Updates quarterly transaction file for changed records
  • Update is made for a specific quarter on Micro File, specified by a parameter
  • Does not bring down CICS during this job’s run

Job 032D allows master accounts to be reassigned a NAICS code based on the predominant employment among the worksites, except for leasing companies. Because leasing companies have no operational relationship with the sub-units, they are exempt from this process.

For non-leasing companies, aggregate 3rd month employment of the sub-units for each NAICS codes determines which NAICS is most prominent. Sub-units that are auxiliaries, not 0 or 5, are not included in the calculation of the most prominent NAICS. The prominent NAICS code for each family is posted to the master account in the NAICS field for the quarter specified in the job parameters. A report is also produced by this job listing the master records updated and summarizing the totals at the bottom.

Auxiliary establishments are exempted from the process, but all other sub-units are combined by their respective industry classifications. The NAICS code with the highest employment overall is assigned to the master account. Some States have found this a useful practice to track the industrial makeup of multi-worksite families over time, since the NAICS code for masters doesn’t change automatically. States without a need for such tracking don’t need to submit this job.

The purpose of this job is to post the NAICS code in the master record that reflects the majority of the multi firm’s activity.
