Code Change Supplement File Data Set Name: EAR.CCS.ACES Service Center DSN: YBUssX.A145.CCS.ACES ('ss' = State FIPS code) Type of File: Sequential File Layout: EARCCS The Code Change Supplement File is produced by the EXPO ES2UT25 program within Job EARJ109D. (This is an EXPO program because it is also used in the micro/macro integrated edits of Job ES2J242D.) The file is formed as a composite of data from the Refiling File and the EXPO Micro File to provide the summarization of code changes enacted through the refiling system. The CCS File is also produced as a temporary file in Job EARJ110D in the process of creating the Summary of Differences Report. Although this is the extent of the file's use in EXPO/EARS, it is often used by the CES unit as part of their first quarter analysis of current employment data. The Data Set Name shown above is the one used for the 109D job. Other jobs use alternative file names. Another version of this copy member (identified as EARCCSA) is used by Job 242D to incorporate QMSA codes into the mix. States that partition the counties into geographic regions can use the QMSA codes to identify the districts. County changes for these states must also indicate the QMSA assignment in order to keep the integrated edits properly separated for edit report segregation. The addition of an OLD-QMSA and NEW-QMSA field brings the EARCCSA record length to 163. This is not yet a BLS-approved format, so is not listed in this documentation. |
