Micro Archive File Data Set Name: WS.ES202.MICRO.ARCHIVE(+0) Service Center DSN: YBUssX.A145.MICRO.ARCHIVE(+0), ('ss' = State FIPS code) Type of File: Sequential File Layout: ES2MIAR This file is a Generation Data Group (GDG) archival of quarterly Micro File data. A quarter may be archived to this file by an option found in the Job 01Q parameters. Archiving is accomplished by the quarter-shifting program (ES2UT22), and the quarter is merged in with any other quarters already present on the file. The data on each record is identical in format to the quarterly portion of the Micro File, except that the year/quarter field uses a 4-digit year here, rather than the 2-digit year on the Micro record; this is needed to keep archival data in proper time sequence through the millennial cross-over. A name field is included in this file as well to better identify the employer. The Micro Archive File can grow to contain more than five years of micro data (the specific limit is not yet set). The file is currently only readable by the 020D job (and the CIPSEA-compliant equivalent (020C)), when a Micro Selection Report requires data for a quarter that no longer exists on the Micro File. Of course, since archived data contain no administrative fields (except for the employer name), there may be establishments that have been removed from the Micro File that will be unable to present such information as a name-and-address report. | ||||||
