Old NAICS Code Check - Code 078 - Discontinued
This edit was dropped in Version 9.0; BLS has instructed developers to correct inconsistencies rather than flagging them here. This edit went into effect with 1st quarter 2002 processing. It was used to flag the following combination of conditions:
- 1. The newer of the two edited quarters is first calendar quarter (2002 or beyond).
- 2. The refiling year matches the current-quarter year on the Micro File.
- 3. The current refiling cycle response code is either ‘46’ or ‘50’ (i.e., a code change is involved with the refiling data).
- 4. The fourth quarter’s status code is ‘1’ (active).
- 5. The old NAICS code disagrees with the prior (fourth) quarter value.
Now the fourth quarter NAICS is copied to the old NAICS code when conflicts are discovered.
