This edit is the first of three individual month comparisons between monthly employment figures and the wage record count, looking for higher employment than the WRC. The pre-selection conditions are the same as those already described for the Code 191 edit (i.e., WRC is positive numeric for non-worksite, experience-rated firm surpassing the minimum employment requirement). For qualifying records, the edit is written as:
This will only flag the first-month employment that is significantly larger than the wage record count. Originally, all three months were flagged under the same edit; but now these have been split out, possibly because there are so few things that can be checked in comparing employment to wage record counts. The edit message for this exception is “First Month Employment > Wage Record Count.” BLS classification: C.4.9.
