Crucial-Level Micro Edits

In the following list of edit exceptions, several apply only to BLS edits (they are not performed in EXPO). To distinguish these from the edits that are contained within the EXPO system, the “Not Performed” notation is appended to the edit header line, if it applies only to BLS. In addition, the header line of edits that are performed in EXPO are underlined. Except where noted, all edits apply only to active-status accounts. All of the edits appearing in this section are crucial-level codes, meaning that these edits will continue to reappear in subsequent edit runs until the situation is resolved. However, many crucial errors are not eligible for “gross error” status. The new editing hierarchy (the A-list, B-list, and C-list approach) is included in all EXPO-performed edits. A “G” sort parameter in the edits will include the edit “grossness” in the edit classifications. The term “BLS classification:” on EXPO-performed edits denotes the general “grossness” code (A, B, C), the high-level sub-classification number, and the low-level specification. The “EXPO ‘G’ code” notations are shorthand forms of the BLS classifications that fit into four characters, using a letter (“A” through “D”) and the 3-digit error code.
