The Low-Employment Tolerance for Monthly Employment Change is a 2-digit value in employee units. This value limits the monthly change in employment for smaller establishments from one month to the next. This process is described in detail later in this appendix. BLS has set a default of 10 for this tolerance. If desired, a tighter tolerance can be specified, but the value cannot be increased above the 10-employee level.
