This 6-digit parameter represents the First Multi Family Employment Split Level. It is the dividing line between “small” and “mid-sized” families. Families with total employment below the PK030 level will be subject to the balance tolerance specified in PK032, while larger establishments will be under either the PK033 (mid-sized family) or PK034 (large family) employment balance tolerance levels. The BLS-established default for this split level is 50 employees. This value can be adjusted if desired. However, the tolerances (PK032 and PK033) are not to be loosened, and a smooth transition point should be found, such that PK032/PK033*100 = PK030. For example, if PK032 = 4 and PK033 = 8 (percent), then PK030 = 4/8*100 = 50.
