PK031

This is another 6-digit parameter for the Second Multi Family Employment Split Level. A multi-family with employment equal to or greater than this value will be classified as a large multi family. Its employment balancing will be subject to the PK034 tolerance level. If the employment is less than the PK031 level, but not less than the PK030 value, the family is mid-sized, subject to the PK033 percentage tolerance. The BLS default for this split level is 1000 employees. This value can be modified as needed. But the tolerances (PK033 and PK034) must not exceed their BLS-defined maximum. A smooth transition should be used as well. It shouldn’t be possible for a 499-employee family to vary by 40, while a 500-employee family can vary by only 30. To ensure a smooth transition, calculate the second split level from: PK031 = PK034/PK033*100. For example, if PK033 = 8 (percent) and PK034 = 60, then PK031 = 60/8*100 = 750.
