The Supplemental AQW Edit AME Cutoff parameter is a 6-digit value given in employee count units. Together with the PK058, it regulates the processing of a supplement to the inter-quarter change editing of average quarterly wages. When an employer slips through the normal AQW edits (code 092 and 127), it may still be flagged via the supplemental edit, checking for low AQW values not caught by the normal process because the fluctuation throughout the past year had been too small to pay attention to. This process is fully described in the micro/integrated edits portion of this appendix. BLS has set the default for this parameter at 25 employees. Though the value can be decreased to tighten the edit further, the value should not be increased beyond the 25-employee mark.
