PK065

This 2-digit parameter is the Unit Collapse Cutoff, a rather cryptic name for an additional parameter in the breakout/consolidation edits tied in to the multi balance edit program. It represents the number of units of a multi-family required to flag a collapse (conversion of the multi-unit family to a single account) as questionable. If there had been fewer active worksites in the original multi-unit family than this cutoff point, the family-now-single is exempted from one of the warning-message edits. BLS specifications were contradictory as to the size of this field, since a 2-digit default was used, but it was claimed to be a 6-digit field. Therefore, this definition may change at some point. The BLS default for this parameter is 50 units (worksites). If decreased, this parameter will flag smaller family collapses. The field should not be augmented to a higher value than the BLS default.
