Contributions “Due” (IMTQ-CONTRIB-DUE(1))

This is the current quarter's contribution amount, rounded to the nearest whole dollar, a 9-digit field at positions 784 - 792. There are often several fields in the Tax File record that deal with contribution amounts. The “contributions due” name here can be misleading and has sometimes been interpreted as the unpaid remainder of contributions not yet paid by the employer for the quarter. This field, however, is actually referring to the contribution amount assessed to the firm. It is also sometimes referred to as the computed contribution amount. Be sure that the assessed or computed contribution amount is used instead of any unpaid balance amount. Also be sure that the amount is shown in rounded whole dollars, rather than including cents digits.

As with IMTQ-TAX-WAGE(1), this field will generally not be available from the tax file or source documents for worksite records. It should therefore be set to low-values for any worksites, allowing for proration and distribution from the master account by the system estimation program.

With the exceptions of rounding and worksite bypass, the method for setting the contribution amount field is the same as that described for the first month's employment (IMTQ-M1-EMPL(1)).
