Estimation Flag (IMTQ-EST-FLAG(1))

The current quarter estimation flag, like the edit flag just described, is a one-byte switch, found at position 725. It is used to indicate whether the account has passed through the system estimation techniques for any fields which may be missing. A value of ‘Y’ notes that the estimates have been completed, and were successful. It can also mean, though, that no estimates were needed if all fields were reported. An ‘N’ value shows that estimation of missing (partially reported) and delinquent data has not taken place, or that missing fields have been introduced after prior estimates, requiring a later re-estimation. The ‘F’ value shows that some or all of the estimates attempted were unsuccessful. This setting prevents further estimation attempts from occurring, saving paper on estimation failure listings.

This flag is under the control of the exportable system. Therefore, it should be left as low-values in all IMT records.
