12 year quarter field
Year/Quarter Field (IMTQ-YRQ(1))
The year-and-quarter field is sub-divided into the fields IMTQ-YEAR(1) (a 4-digit numeric field at locations 687 - 690) and IMTQ-QTR(1) (a 1-digit numeric field at location 691). The IMTQ-YEAR(1) field provides the full current 4-digit year. The Micro File equivalent field (MICQ-YRQ) uses a 2-digit year, since all data on the file is in the same century. The IMTQ-QTR(1) field provides the current quarter number, namely-
- 1 = First calendar quarter (months of January to March)
- 2 = Second calendar quarter (months of April to June)
- 3 = Third calendar quarter (months of July to September)
- 4 = Fourth calendar quarter (months of October to December)
The IMTQ-YRQ field should be filled in for each quarter that is to receive data from the IMT record. In the multiple-quarter initial file build, all six quarters should be specified. For the quarterly extract and late reporter data extraction, only the current quarter should be specified. If the quarter's data are not needed, or if no changes have occurred for this quarter, this field should be set to low-values.
Note: The presence of low-values in the IMT-YRQ field flags the quarter as unusable to the EXPO interface program. Hence, all other fields in the quarter, even if they contain live data, will be ignored. It is essential to fill in this field whenever quarterly data are to be extracted.
