This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions

  • Creates comment code/narrative report for a specified quarter on Micro File
  • Supplemental tool for clean-up of the Macro edit
  • Sort options include county, ownership, Industry, UI account number

Job 022D produces a report of Micro File records with micro comment codes, narrative comments and notes, or perennial comments and notes. Four report options exist to specify the type of report to produce:

  • The first includes records with comment codes and narrative comments for a specified quarter.
  • The second includes records with comment codes, narrative comments, and narrative notes for a specified quarter.
  • The third is a report of records with narrative comments only for a specified quarter–no comment codes.
  • The fourth is a report of records with perennial comments and notes only. The report can be sorted in county, ownership code, industry, and/or U-I number sequence.

A variety of applications exist for this report. One application is to sort the first option into county, industry, and ownership code order to use it as a reference in the integrated edit cleanup process. This sequence is the same as that on the integrated edit (county, ownership, NAICS). This report is helpful in identifying research work that has already been done at the micro level and that may help explain macro level fluctuations appearing on the integrated edit. When a particular county-owner-industry macro cell has been flagged with an error, micro records in the flagged group that have already received a comment code and/or narrative comment can often explain the macro level fluctuation. Option 4 can be used as a global identifier of records on the Micro File with perennial comments for information management, including periodic purging of the comments.
