Job Features and Functions
- Produces a Survey Management File and report of refiling status information
- The report is produced in both hard copy and in electronic format
- Report includes current data and date of last run of 106M
- The job can be run on demand to determine response rates, etc.
- The job uses the same parameters as Job 106D
Job 106M prepares a monthly deliverable version of the Survey SMR as both a report and a file equivalent. The file can either be emailed to the BLS Regional Office, faxed, mailed, or FTP’d, depending on the Regional Office’s preference.
Job 106M summarizes refiling status information from the Refiling File and produces a BLS monthly Survey SMR (Summary Management Report) in both file and hard copy format. This is a monthly BLS deliverable to the Regional Office. It shows data about the progress in the refiling process. It includes the current month’s information on the number of refiling forms mailed, response rates, and counts by various categories. Since the job produces both a file and hard copy report, the State should consult with their BLS Regional Office about the preferred mode of the deliverable.
The job reads both the Refiling File and the previous month’s Survey Management File to obtain a date of the prior run and data for the current run time period.
A new Survey SMR File is created by this job each time it is run. This file is used to obtain a date of that run, which is included on the subsequent month’s report. Therefore, each month’s report includes current information and the date of the prior month report. The format of the hard copy report produced by 106M is identical to the one produced by 106D. Job 106D, however, does not produce a file and it can be run at any time, where 106M is generally run once each month.
