Job ES2J002D - Micro Edit and Estimation (No New Data Extracted)

RUN THIS JOB - As required.

This job executes the following programs (click to link to each program description):

Job Features and Functions:

  • Performs current and prior quarter micro partial estimates
    • (optional) delinquent estimates
  • Performs micro edits on current and prior quarter
  • Option to edit/re-edit entire Micro File
  • Updates the Micro Edit File
  • Copies MOA or UI address to physical address field, if address type = 1
  • See 001D for more detailed features on edits and estimations

Job 002D performs standard micro edits and estimates on current and prior quarter micro data, but does not extract any new data from the IMT File into the Micro File. Micro File records to be edited include those with reported or estimated data that have not been previously edited and those that were previously edited, but were subsequently changed on-line or that were identified with a crucial error in an earlier edit. As staff make on-line changes to any record on the Micro File (except for comment codes), the on-line program resets the edit flag in the record. This means that when Job 002D is run, changed records are re-edited. This procedure protects against data entry errors and allows the analyst another look at any changed data exceeding tolerance levels. In addition, edit errors considered "crucial" prevent the edit flag from being set to "Y", thus forcing the record to be continually reedited until the error is resolved.

Job 002D includes the same edit and estimation programs contained in Jobs 001Q and 001D. Partial estimates are automatically performed and delinquent estimates are optionally performed. Many of the parameters in these jobs are the same as Job 002D. A definition of each of the parameters is provided under the Related Links section.

The Micro Edit File, created by Job 001Q, is used by all other jobs containing the micro edit program. The sequence of this Micro Edit File, as established in 001Q, remains in place for all other micro edit jobs throughout the quarter (including jobs 001D and 001S). It determines the sequence of the hard copy edit and the sequence of record to record advancement in the ES2E screen. Therefore, no parameter exists in Job 002D to sort the edit.

Options exist for this job to edit/re-edit the entire Micro File. This job updates the Micro Edit File. This job also copies the MOA or U-I address to the physical address field, if the address type = 1.

The micro edits performed by this job have tolerance levels that can be set in the ES2L screen.
