Contribution Check for Non-E/R Accounts - Code 060

Non-experience-rated (reimbursable and non-subject) accounts should not show a non-zero contribution amount if their type of coverage is correctly coded. This edit checks for the presence of non-zero contributions for all accounts with a type of coverage of ‘1’ or ‘8’. Type of coverage ‘3’ (a reimbursable employer that includes employee contributions) is exempt from this edit, since the contributions are assumed to originate from the employee contributions rather than any erroneous employer contributions.

The presence of a non-zero contribution field for a type-of-coverage ‘1’ or ‘8’ employer is considered an error. This is a crucial error, locking the edit flag so that the account’s editing is considered incomplete until the contributions are removed (or the type of coverage is changed to experience rated, taxable). If Code 060 is flagged, but Code 059 is not (i.e., taxable wages are zero, but contributions are non-zero), then Code 063 (which is described later) will also be flagged for contributions exceeding the taxable wages. BLS classification: A.1.4 or B.1.5, based on employment level EXPO “G” code: A060 or B060.
