PK003
This is the Maximum Estimation Decrease Percentage, a 2-digit parameter in a percentage unit. A value of 30 represents a 30% decrease. This field is used in estimations to limit the oscillation of non-seasonal account estimates. Look for DecMax in Appendix D in TotW and Empl estimates for further information on its use in estimations.
Note: To calculate an appropriate increase percentage to correspond to the decrease percentage, use the following equation.
PctInc = 1 ÷ (1 - PctDec) - 1
For instance, if PctDec = 27% (.27), then PctInc = 1 ÷ (1 - .27) - 1
= (1 ÷ .73) - 1 ≈ 1.37 - 1 = .37 (37%)
The biggest decrease that can carry a corresponding increase is 49%, since 50% corresponds to a 100% increase, which exceeds the length of the PK004 field.
