Large Wages without Employment Check - Code 094

This is the flip side of the employment-without-wages edit just described. It is the large-scale version of the Code 131 edit, and it looks for zero employment matched to an exceptionally high total wage figure. The edit is coded as follows:

PK007 represents the Lookup File parameter for largest allowable total wages without employment, and PK059 is the standard wage tolerance multiplier for the “large” edit series. Since quarterly data fields are involved, both current and prior (or future and current, etc.) quarters will be checked separately. Due to the fact that this is an employment/wage-related edit, it can and will be associated with any applicable macro edit (if it belongs to the county/owner/NAICS classification of one of the records on the Macro Edit File), tying it into the integrated edits that appear after the standard micro edits. If the total wages meet the PK068 cutoff, this condition is a gross error. BLS classification: A.1.5 or B.1.6, based on wage level. EXPO “G” code: A094 or B094.
