EARS CICS On-Line Transactions

EARB (EXPO Automated Refiling System Menu) provides menu access to the EARS system screens. It also facilitates user mobility from one transaction screen to another. Those screens that require a SESA ID entry will carry that account number and RUN back to the menu. All EARS screens return to EARB via the F1 key.

The EARC (Refiling File Inquiry/Maintenance) screen enables the user to add, change, delete, or inquire on individual records in the EARS Refiling File. Selected fields, such as the physical address, are stored only on the Micro File, which can also be updated with this screen. Transactions for both files maintain an audit trail capability.

EARF (Online Establishment List) enables the user to display a select group of Refiling File records on the screen using a variety of selection criteria, including old or new NAICS, county, ownership, township/zone, or MEEI codes. Selections can also be based on update dates, response codes, carryover indicator (even though this will likely not be used for quite some time), batch number, and employment level.

EARI (Refiling File Lock Facility) provides a means of locking the Refiling File. When the lock switch is set to Y, users are prevented from making any updates to the Refiling File with the EARC and EARR screens.

The EARL (Lookup File Inquiry/Maintenance) screen provides access to refiling edit parameters and the Lookup File elements. Except for two refiling edit parameters, the EARL screen is a subset of the ES2L transaction.

The EARN (Batch Job Parameter On-Line Entry) screens allow the user to enter parameters for EARS batch jobs. Once in this screen, the user types in enough of the Job ID to make it unique, then by pressing the Enter key the user is able to access the table for the job-related parameters. Once the parameters have been set, the associated batch job can be run.

The EARP (Refiling File Transaction History) screen allows the user to view records in the Refiling Transaction File for use as an audit trail to review updates to the Refiling File. It can also be used to restore a Transaction File record to the Refiling File to reverse a transaction previously entered.

The EARR (Refiling Mass Update) screen is used for rapid entry of refiling response codes for records receiving no other changes. Response code 41, "returned, but no CCS changes" is particularly applicable for this screen. The screen also automatically assigns batch numbers and update dates to each record entered. It can be used with a scanner gun.
